Terms & Conditions

Any vehicle bought from Orchard Automotive is subject to these terms and conditions:

Any vehicle sold from Orchard Automotive is a used vehicle and has been purchased at a used vehicle price, greatly reduced from the new price of the vehicle. Therefore it will not beof a new condition. This includes general wear on the interior and exterior of the vehicle and maintainable wear on the vehicles internals. This vehicle is new to you, but not a new vehicle.

Any warranty administered by Orchard Automotive does not cover in any way wear and tear items on any vehicle. This includes all Bushings/Mounts, Boots, Tyres, Brake Pads and discsand any other items that are made of a degradable material and/or have a direct contact with another metal part.

The vehicles standard warranty may be 3 months (standard), 12 months (extended) or 24months (extended) and cannot be extended after 7 days of the vehicle being delivered.

The vehicle has either: undergone a government standard MOT by a third party company or; previously had an MOT carried out by the previous owner, ensuring its road legality, that it’s fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

Taking into consideration the age and mileage, the vehicle will be of satisfactory quality, is road worthy and by agreeing to purchase any vehicle, the customer is happy with the mechanical and visual condition of the vehicle. This is a used vehicle and will show signs of wear and tear early into your ownership.

Any mechanical work completed on the car, in any case, needs prior consent by Orchard Automotive for any warranty to be valid, any work carried out without prior consent will invalidate the warranty and any future claims.

Any vehicle, if listed as automatic, may have a semi-automatic gearbox and by purchasing a vehicle, the customer understands the differences, Orchard Automotive cannot accept returns for this reason.

Orchard Automotive Group is, in any case, within their Right to withdraw a sale of a vehicle due to a customers part exchange not passing our vehicle inspection for any reason, within a 3 working day period. In this case all funds will be refunded, minus any incurred costs to the sale

A vehicle deposit is to hold the vehicle and so that no other customer can purchase the vehicle. Deposits are non refundable after 3 days of the order date. If customers do not turnup within their 3 day allotted time, their deposit will be non refundable. If the deposit was subject to a second viewing, it has to be viewed within three days of the deposit being paid to be refundable. In any other case the deposit is non refundable.

If a vehicle has to have work carried out by Orchard Automotive, the vehicle will need to be brought back by the customer to the seller's premises, and collected from the premises after the work has been carried out, unless specified otherwise.

Any vehicles rejected within the first 30 days of the initial sale are subject to the conditions and charges below:

  1. The vehicle is returned in the same condition as when it left the showroom.
  2. Alloy wheel refurbishments £80 per wheel, valeting charge is £100, stains £25 pe rseat, broken parts and paint damage is on a case by case basis.
  3. A charge of £0.60 per mile.
  4. We will be given 24 hours to inspect the vehicle at our premises before we advise if we are willing to accept the return and of the charges.
  5. Any monies owed to us will be deducted off of the refund amount.
  6. Monies will be returned in the same way we received payment within 5 working days** cash is unable to be returned, a bank transfer will be arranged **.
  7. If the vehicle has been financed, we will speak to your finance company.

No warranty can be offered for vehicles used for reward (Private hire, Taxi, driving instruction etc).

Vehicles not collected at the agreed date after warranty work or inspection will be charged storage at £25+Vat per day. Vehicles also brought back to Orchard Automotive groups’ premises without prior consent will be taken to storage and charged £25+Vat per day until the vehicle is collected.

Vehicles that are driven for more than 3 miles with any issue light illuminated, will not be covered under warranty under the negligence terms and conditions, unless specifically advised otherwise.

Any vehicle found not to have been serviced according to the manufacturers regulations will not warrant parts that were meant to be changed before the vehicles current mileage/age.

Orchard Automotive is not liable for the recovery of vehicles in any case.

By purchasing a vehicle, the customer confirms that they checked all details and ensured the paperwork is correct for the vehicle.

If a vehicle is brought back to us for warranty work, we aim to diagnose the vehicle within 72hours. After diagnosis, we aim to repair the vehicle within 10 working days, courtesy cars are case by case basis, but if a vehicle is needed by the customer and we’ve had your vehicle for more than 7 days, we will provide a courtesy car.

**courtesy cars are not supplied with fuel included, the amount of fuel in the car when given needs to be the same when it is returned.

If a vehicle is in for warranty work and the issue is found to be caused by driver misuse, driver error or neglect, a contribution will be required for the repair of the vehicle, or alternatively, it will be returned back to the condition it was before being brought to us.

Photographic evidence will be provided where possible.

Please note that we do not operate an organised distance selling scheme as defined by the consumer contracts reg 2013, you will not be entitled to cancel your order under the 14 day cancellation period.

Any vehicle purchased within 30 days cannot be rejected for any reason apart from major vehicle failure, this is in line with the consumer rights act 2015.

If a vehicle is found to be neglected in any way and causes a failure of a component, the repair will not be warranted and will require the customer to pay the full amount. Some examples of neglect are:

  • Putting the wrong fuel in a vehicle.
  • Excessive clutch wear due to riding the clutch.
  • Driving the vehicle, in any way, illegally.
  • Not servicing the vehicle within the manufacturers specifications.
  • Driving the vehicle for more than 3 miles after an issue has occurred or made apparent.
  • Putting the wrong oil/Coolant in the vehicle.

Negligence is not limited to these examples.
